Do not use this herb if you take Lasix (furosemide) because the laxative action promotes the risk of potassium depletion. Do not take this herb if you are taking medication for the liver. Don't take rhubarb if you have a bowel obstruction; appendicitis; unexplained stomach pain; or inflammatory conditions of the intestines including Crohn's disease, colitis, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)



For decoctions for adults ( this herb is not recommended for children, do not allow children to consume ) it is safe to consume in medicinal amounts for up to 3 months. Do not exceed this timeframe without a break in usage for the same amount of time allotted or longer
